Community

Community within Village on the Cannon has developed in a number of ways.

Informally.  Some homeowners have long enjoyed planting and tending flowers, or sprucing up their property, and they now offer these gifts to the community.  Others discover common interests – reading, trail-walking, good food...

Occasional groups Optional activities, initiated and coordinated by residents, include movie night, lunch bunch, yoga, reminiscences, book group, men's get-togethers, and game night.

Seasonal celebrations. Of course!Community Gathering

Working together.  In the fall of 2008, a decision to become self-managed brought unexpected benefits and opportunities to the community.  Many homeowners choose to participate in the behind-the-scenes work that leads to policy statements, budget development, and decisions for the good of all.  A responsive Board of Directors, elected by the homeowners, provides leadership.

Being a good neighbor.  Concern for others is always accompanied by respect for individual privacy.

The freedom to choose.  Active adults have many priorities for their time and energy, both within and beyond Village on the Cannon.  The balance is up to each individual.
